İSEN; GÜL, President of the Republic of Turkey, Put the Last Signature for the Turkic Council

Mustafa İsen, Secretary General of the Turkish Presidency, expressed that Abdullah Gül, the President of the Republic of Turkey, signed the decision of “the Turkic Speaking States Cooperation Council”.

İsen, pointed out that hence, Turkey completed a procedure about the Council. To establish a council which was going to be a frame organization with 300 billion people who speaks Turkic language was decided in the 9th Summit of the Heads of the Turkic Speaking States which was performed in Nakhchivan and which was participated by Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kirghizstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in October 2009. İsen attended to reception which was organized for the honor of Zakir Haşimov, Ankara Ambassador of the Azerbaijan who was appointed to Astana, by Kazakhstan Embassy. İsen, Secretary General of the Turkish Presidency, who made a speech in the reception, marked that also Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan signed, so the Council is going to be active soon. Because of the problems inside Kirghizstan, its signature was postponed.

According to the Nakhchivan Agreement which was signed by Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kirghizstan; Council of Cooperation of Turkic Speaking States is going to be like EU for the Turkic World. Those countries are going to manage rotatively the duty of secretary general of the Council whose Secretariat General settles in Istanbul. First secretary general is going to be from Turkey. (MEDIA)
